Here is a great way to use your canned sauce for a one dish meal.
Brown 1/2 lb. ground turkey or extra lean hamburger. Add one jar of your own roasted tomato sauce (or a batch that is freshly made) and simmer.
Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Throw in your favorite pasta shape and cook. Time your pasta, and when you think you have about five minutes left, throw in a bunch of broccoli flowerets. Drain pasta/broccoli, top with sauce, and sprinkle with Parmesan!
My kids will eat a lot of broccoli this way.
