Eggnog French Toast

Hmmm…..this really isn’t a recipe either.  Do people have recipes for french toast? Here is what we do:

Start with 6 or 7 eggs.  Crack into a shallow pan and beat well.  Add about 1 to 1 1/2 c. eggnog and combine.  You could also sprinkle a bit of nutmeg or even add extra rum flavoring.  To make enough to feed all of us and to have leftovers, we generally run out of the eggnog/egg combo and have to make more.

Using Texas Toast, dredge each side in the mixture.  You don’t want a super quick dip, you want the eggs to get to the inside so that when they cook the center gets custardy .  So feel free to really dredge.  Cook the French Toast on a 350 degree griddle in a bit of butter until nicely browned and then flip.  You know they are done when the middle of the bread puffs up because of the eggs.

Serve with syrup, jam, or powdered sugar.  A few of my children just like them with butter only.
